The 67-year-old fitness guru was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Friday after an individual, presumably his housekeeper, at his home called 911 because he was “incoherent,” TMZ reported. When paramedics arrived, they determined that he should be taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

In March, Simmons disputed reports that he was being held hostage by his housekeeper.

“I’m doing good, my health is good, and I’m just sort of enjoying today,” Simmons said by phone. “No one is holding my house hostage.” (RELATED: Richard Simmons Responds To Reports He’s Being Held Hostage)

“I do what I want to do as I’ve always done.”
