The new all-female “Ghostbusters” reboot has been met with criticism at every turn. Now, even the new theme song is coming under fire.
The original tune is a classic by any standard, but the updated version featuring Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott doesn’t seem to be sitting right with fans. Take a listen and decide for yourself.
“Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid),” the hit 1984 “Ghostbusters” theme song by Ray Parker, Jr., is so well-known and enjoyed that it has made its way into the pop culture hall of fame. This new version, however, is not being embraced by movie-goers as much as the studio may have hoped.
Fans and entertainment outlets of all ages have logged on to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the tune.
That #Ghostbusters theme tune / redux of the original is rancid.

The Ghostbusters song sounds like something we would’ve had to pretend was good in 2006 because everything was bad.
