Lena Dunham On Louisiana Shooting: ‘White Americans Need To Change’

Lena Dunham said white AmericansĀ have a responsibility to change after a black man was shot dead by police in Louisiana this week.

Alton Sterling, 37, was selling compact discs outside of a convenience store when two officers arrived and pinned him to the ground after an altercation, thenĀ fired multiple shots into his chest and back.

The 30-year-old actress weighed in on Twitter Wednesday night.

Sorry for the rage spam tonight but this reaction makes me LOL. Just because you don't commit violence doesn't mean you aren't part of a system of violence. If we weren't all so obsessed with being "the good one" we could really get something going #ragespam

Dunham isn’t the only celebrity to speak out about the recent shootings.

After a Minnesota man was shot during a traffic stop Wednesday, John Legend sent out several tweets.
