Mother Of Jim Carrey’s Ex Will Drop Suit If He Shares STD Test Results
The mother of Jim Carrey’s ex-girlfriend Cathriona White said she will drop her wrongful death suit against the actor if he agrees to share results from an STD test he took in 2013, Page Six reports.
White’s mother Brigid Sweetman alleges that Carrey was not truthful with her daughter about having an STD and that he gave her the prescription pills that led to her death. Carrey has denied that he has ever tested positive for an STD.
“Jim Carrey and his attorney have told the world that Carrey has never had STDs and he has never tested positive for STDs,” Sweetman said in a statement, according to Page Six. “They have called me and Mark ‘shams’ for claiming otherwise. I am demanding they immediately release the full 2013 lab results so people can judge for themselves who is telling the truth and who is lying.” (RELATED: Jim Carrey Pledges To ‘Defend [His] Honor’ In Wrongful Death Lawsuit)
“If they publicly release and publish the full Quest Diagnostics lab report for the blood sample Carrey gave on Jan. 28, 2013 at 11:40 a.m. under the name ‘Jose Lopez’ and if it shows Carrey did not test positive for STDs, I will immediately dismiss the case and apologize,” Sweetman added. “But if it shows differently, and it will, then Carrey and his attorney must admit they have lied to the media and the public. The public has a right to know when they have been lied to.”
Sweetman filed the suit in Los Angeles on Monday.
Carrey is also facing a wrongful death suit filed in September by White’s estranged husband. The actor has defended himself and said he will fight. (RELATED: Jim Carrey Hit With Second Wrongful Death Lawsuit After Ex-Girlfriend Commits Suicide)
White’s autopsy found a cocktail of drugs in her system including painkillers, beta blockers and a sleep aid. It has also been reported that Carrey texted White the night before she died seeking help locating his painkillers.
