Adrien Broner Cited With Battery For Choking A Las Vegas Waitress
Professional boxer Adrien Broner was cited for a misdemeanor battery charge for choking a waitress at a Las Vegas nightclub early Sunday morning, TMZ reports.
The police received a call to Drai’s nightclub around 3:30 am Sunday after a female server claimed “Broner put his hands around her neck and said, ‘Bitch, I will knock you out,'” according to TMZ.
The police spoke to the waitress who accused Broner of choking her as well as a witness who confirmed her story. The altercation was reportedly caught on video.
Broner denied he did anything wrong when speaking to the police. Despite the professional boxer’s denial, police felt there was enough evidence to book him for misdemeanor battery.
Broner was not arrested for his involvement in the incident, the citation simply requires him to appear in court at a specified date, TMZ reports.
This is not Broner’s first run-in with police for physical violence. The boxer was arrested earlier this year for allegedly “beating up a guy at a bowling alley,” according to TMZ. Those charges were later dropped.
