Detroit Red Wings Grinder Drops The Gloves, Throws Blows Against Ottawa [VIDEO]

David Hookstead | Reporter

Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader dropped his gloves Monday night and threw blows against the Ottawa Senators during his 5-1 victory.

Senators forward Chris Neil got into a scrap in front of the net, and the refs quickly rushed in to stop the mayhem before it got too bad. But Abdelkader wasn’t about to be stopped and threw a beautiful hook into Neil’s face before being taken down. (SLIDESHOW: These Photos Are Proof That Carrie Underwood Is The Most Stunning NHL WAG)

A great example of a classic hockey fight. Just two gentleman settling their beef the old fashioned way and the refs not intervening until it’s over.

Abdelkader might have been eventually taken down, but he lived up to his reputation of never backing down.
