Jim Carrey’s Late Girlfriend Wrote Suicide Notes Years Before Death
Jim Carrey’s late girlfriend Cathriona White wrote several suicide notes during her relationship with the actor years before killing herself in September 2015.
Investigators discovered multiple notes after White’s death suggesting she was going to commit suicide years before, but didn’t, TMZ reports. The notes could be pivotal in the wrongful death suits filed against Carrey by White’s estranged husband and mother, who are blaming the actor for her tragic suicide.
The suits claim that Carrey was responsible for White’s death having given her several STDs and even providing her with the prescription drugs with which she killed herself. (RELATED: Jim Carrey Hit With Second Wrongful Death Lawsuit After Ex-Girlfriend Commits Suicide)
The earliest note was written in October 2012 following the death of her father and just two months into her relationship with Carrey. In the 2012 note, White wrote that she was “too messed up for anyone to really love,” and apologized to Carrey and wrote that she loved him.
White wrote a second suicide note shortly after she and Carrey broke up in May of 2013, according to TMZ. In the note she accused Carrey of giving her STDs which may have contributed to her suicidal thoughts. She also blamed Carrey in the note writing “my blood is on your hands” and “you pulled the trigger on me.”
Although White was clearly upset with Carrey, leading her to write such things, the two got back together 18 months later. However, Carrey and White reportedly broke up again just days before her tragic death.
The notes discovered by investigators could have an impact on the claims filed against Carrey. Although White’s note in 2013 connects Carrey to her thoughts about killing herself, she did not do it and later got back together with him. The note also indicates that White was upset about a number of things besides Carrey, TMZ reports.
In White’s final note found near her body she wrote about Carrey and the heartbreak he had caused her, but didn’t blame the actor. In one note she told Carrey, “You are my family,” and left the actor responsible for her burial and estate.
White did not mention her estranged husband or mother in any of the notes that were found following her death, TMZ reports.
