Drunk Texas A&M Student Takes Nude Selfie, Wrecks Into Parked Cop Car
A Texas A&M student was arrested after crashing into a parked police car while taking a nude selfie on Wednesday night, according to San Antonio Express-News.
The Texas A&M freshman, Miranda Kay Rader, crashed into the police car at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday just five miles north of campus in College Station.
Immidiately following the crash, police officer John Sartell found Rader shirtless in the driver’s seat with the airbags deployed, according to an affidavit obtained by San Antonio Express-News. Officer Sartell said that Rader’s bra was undone and she was attempting to put her blouse back on when he approached the vehicle.
“I asked her why she was not dressed while driving and she stated that she was taking a Snapchat photo to send to her boyfriend while she was at the red light,” Sartell stated in the affidavit.
The 20-year-old A&M student told Sartell she had an open bottle of wine in the car that she drank about a quarter of at a friends house before getting in the car. The officer found the bottle to be about a quarter of the way full of “liquid that had the odor of an alcoholic beverage,” according to the affidavit.
Sartell conducted sobriety tests after noticing Rader’s eyes were “glassy” and she was swaying “continuously.” Radar was taken to a hospital to have her blood drawn and then to the Brazos County Detention Center “where she booked and charged with driving while intoxicated with an open container,” San Antonio Express-News reports.
Rader was also issued a minor in possession of alcohol citation. There is no mention of charges resulting from her cell-phone use or nudity during the crash.
