Val Kilmer Has Tongue Cancer
Val Kilmer has tongue cancer.
Michael Douglas revealed the news about the 56-year-old actor while speaking about their film “The Ghost in the Darkness” at a press junket in London on Sunday, according to the Sun.
“Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him,” Douglas said. “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
Douglas famously battled tongue cancer in 2010.
“I had to deal with chemo, radiation, which is a seven-week period, and a bunch of weeks either side,” he added. (RELATED: Chevy Chase Checks Into Rehab)
Rumors circulated in 2015 that Kilmer might have throat cancer after he was seen wearing a tracheotomy tube in his neck, though he later denied the claims.
“Thank you for all your sweet support,” Kilmer wrote on Facebook in 2015.
“But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU. Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there’s minimum gossip and silly talk. I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say.”
“God bless you all and please don’t worry.”
