Department store chain Nordstrom’s responded to the boycott against Ivanka Trump’s fashion line by saying that its decision to carry Trump’s line is not a political statement.

“We hope that offering a vendor’s products isn’t misunderstood as us taking a political position; we’re not,” Nordstrom tweeted. “We recognize our customers can make choices about what they purchase based on personal views & we’ll continue to give them options.” (RELATED: People Are Boycotting Ivanka Trump’s Fashion Brand Because Of Her Dad)

Shannon Coulter started the boycott after a 2005 video recording surfaced in October of Donald Trump making lewd comments about sexually harassing women.

Last week during an interview with “Good Morning America,” Trump herself responded to the boycott.

“The beauty of America is people can do what they like, but I’d prefer to talk to the millions — the tens of millions — of American women who are inspired by the brand and the message that I’ve created,” Trump said.
