Nilson lived through the Great Depression, two world wars, the moon landing and remained a Cubs fan through it all. She says she never “lost faith” that her team would do it again and didn’t miss the moment when the game went all the way to one o’clock in the morning due to an extra inning and rain delay.
“I never lost faith in the Cubs,” Nilson said. “Win or lose, I love them.”
“This year I’ve been pulling like crazy….one more game.”
Nilson along with thousands of Cubs fans reacted to the moment with pure joy.
