Susan Sarandon said the Democratic National Committee is “completely corrupt.”

On Thursday, the 70-year-old actress came out against the DNC in an interview on CNN and called the organization “gone” following revelations in leaked DNC emails that proved they overwhelmingly favored Hillary Clinton over her candidate Bernie Sanders during the primaries. (RELATED: Susan Sarandon: Clinton Is More Dangerous Than Trump [VIDEO])

“After my experience in the primary, it’s very clear to me the DNC is gone,” Sarandon told the anchor. “It’s completely corrupt and every superdelegate is a lobbyist. The way that the system is set up in terms of trying of having superdelegates — you could win a state and not get the delegates. It’s crazy.” (RELATED: Susan Sarandon’s Absolutely BRUTAL Response To Leaked DNC Emails)

“Look, Bernie has said ‘don’t ever listen to me if I tell you how to vote,'” Sarandon added when the anchor asked if she still holds Sen. Bernie Sanders in high regard even though he supports Clinton.

“What [Sanders] did is show people that they counted,” Sarandon responded. “He brought them hope. He’s supporting a lot of candidates. It’s very important to go and vote down the ticket.”

“We’ve been voting for the lesser of two evils for too long,” she added. “The good news, if you want some good news, is that everybody’s so frustrated that at least we’re awake.”

Sarandon was a strong Sanders supporter and ever since he dropped out, she has made it clear she would have a difficult time pulling the lever for Clinton. This week the actress sent a letter to the Green Party candidate Jill Stein that she would be supporting her.

“I wanted to vote for somebody who in some way is concerned about the things that concern me,” Sarandon said.
