Mariah Carey Got Paid An Insane Amount Of Money For Store’s X-Mas Launch
Mariah Carey got paid an insane amount of money to sing just two songs at the kick-off of Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue’s Christmas launch.
On Thursday, the 46-year-old singer appeared in Toronto, Canada at the unveiling of the store’s Christmas window display. The singer, according to The Daily Mail, was paid $500,000 per song and made $1 million dollars total for the brief show that lasted five minutes and included her popular Christmas hit song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” (RELATED: Mariah Carey Allegedly Dumped By Fiance Over ‘Spending’ Habits)
For the show Carey wore a red satin full-length gown with a pink ribbon and lots of diamonds.
Another report said several streets around the fashion department store were closed with thousands of people showing up for the brief concert that ended in fireworks and a showering of confetti. (RELATED: Mariah Carey Shares Tons Of Cleavage In Pic From Greece Vacation [PHOTOS])
The one million dollar price tag however was “highly inflated,” HBC’s Director of Communications told TMZ.
Carey’s performance was her first one since news broke that her engagement to billionaire James Packer was off. The split reportedly came following a fight in Greece in September where the couple had been vacationing, according to a report in People.
“James has not been in a mentally healthy place and has not been present for Mariah or her family,” a source told the outlet. “His behavior was not a desirable situation for Mariah so she unfortunately had to leave him.”
Another report says that Carey also wants $50 million dollars from Packer claiming that is what he has cost her since they have been together.
As previously reported, the real reason for the split might be due to Carey’s latest involvement in her reality television show.
Sources tell the outlet that what might have been the final straw in the relationship also was when Carey was in Vegas and cameras caught “some type of rendezvous” with one of her dancers in her Las Vegas show.
