Chicago Cubs Players Reveal Their Feelings Towards Steve Bartman

David Hookstead | Reporter

Steve Bartman would be welcomed back with open arms by some of the Chicago Cubs players.

Cubs players Dexter Fowler, Ben Zobrist and Anthony Rizzo all went on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night, and Fallon asked about the possibility Bartman would throw out the first pitch of the 2017 season.

“We haven’t heard that yet, but that’d be amazing. He’s a big part of Cubs history, no matter what,” Rizzo told Fallon. (SLIDESHOW: These Barely Clothed Women Love Baseball)

Bartman became one of the most famous figures in sports after he appeared to interfere with the ball during game six of the 2003 NLCS. However, the vitriol directed towards Bartman quickly dissipated after the Cubs won the 2016 World Series.

Wrigley Field might explode if Bartman actually throws out the opening pitch of the 2017 season.
