‘Stand By Me’ Star Pops The Question So His Girlfriend Won’t Be Deported
Corey Feldman, who appeared in the ’80s classics “Stand By Me” and “The Goonies” has proposed to his Canadian girlfriend out of fear that she might be deported when Donald Trump takes office.
Feldman revealed the news in an exclusive interview with People.com, telling them he took his longtime girlfriend, Courtney Anne, completely by surprise.
“She was very surprised, excited and started crying,” Feldman told People. “She was surprised because we had both been so anti-marriage since we met. But seeing as she’s Canadian and with Trump coming in, we didn’t want to risk being separated by new immigration laws.”
Or, at least Feldman didn’t and Courtney Anne agreed.
“We both know that we make a good team, and don’t want to be separated for any reason,” Feldman said. “So this is the best decision to protect our relationship.”
The 45-year-old actor/musician told People he and his 27-year-old fiancée are “planning a small, secret wedding just for family, very soon,” to make things official. “We will likely have a big public wedding for friends and media to attend within a year.”
