Jessica Simpson Hints That New Music Is Coming In 2017 [PHOTOS]
Jessica Simpson shared a post on her Instagram account that hints that she is working on new music for 2017.
On Sunday during the 2016 American Music Awards show, the 36-year-old singer shared a throwback video to her performance at the AMAs in 2001. In the video she is wearing a white shirt tied up high on her stomach with white jeans while singing her hit song “I Wanna Love You Forever.” The video shares only a small clip of the performance. It was the caption next to the video that got her 3.3 million followers excited.
“Throwing it back to 2001 #AMA,” Simpson wrote. “Bring it 2017.” (RELATED: Jessica Simpson Showed Her Fans Everything When She Wore This Blue Dress)
This is not the first time the singer and mother of two has suggested she is ready to get back to making music. In June she shared another picture on her social media account. In the black and white photo she is wearing her famous daisy dukes in heels while standing in a studio at a microphone wearing headphones. She did not include a caption next to the photo.
Simpson’s last album she put out was back in 2010 titled “Happy Christmas.”
In an interview on the “Today” show last year she talked about her growing family and how her husband Eric Johnson and children, now ages 3 and 4, don’t really know her life as a singer.
“I recorded a Christmas album with [Johnson], but he has never really seen me onstage, and do my thing that actually got me here,” Simpson said.
As to whether she plans to also get back to touring, she told the host, “Absolutely!”
“That’s how I started, and that’s one of my biggest passions in the world,” Simpson said. “I love to use my voice.”
