Dave Chappelle Has Three Comedy Specials Coming To Netflix

Dave Chappelle is joining up with Netflix to do three comedy specials set to release in 2017, according to USA Today.

Netflix announced the news on Monday, but release dates have not yet been announced. The comedian will be working with director/producer Stan Lathan, who has collaborated with Chappelle before to bring us “Killin’ Them Softly” and “For What It’s Worth.” It will be an original stand-up special airing exclusively on Netflix, USA Today reports.

The other two comedy specials are from two shows Chappelle performed at Austin City Limits and the Hollywood Palladium. The concert specials will also be directed by Lathan and will be “released simultaneously by Netflix,” according to USA Today.

Chappelle’s three Netflix specials mark the comedians first specials television after a 12 year hiatus. He has performed over 500 concert shows since 2013 and just recently hosted Saturday Night Live which landed the show its highest ratings in three years.

Chappelle fans everywhere should be excited the comedy giant has finally decided to return to the screen.
