On the 911 tape, the dispatcher calls the situation a “psychiatric emergency.”
West’s doctor told police that the singer was “not violent” but would react negatively when police arrived. The doctor also described his patient as one who “suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.” (RELATED: Report: Kanye West Supports Donald Trump For President)
TMZ also reported that West was placed on a 5150 hold which is why he had to be taken to the hospital in handcuffs, as is standard procedure. The police report also alleges that the singer tried to assault a staff member at the gym.
As previously reported the call came in Monday after West’s physician was checking on the singer for sleep deprivation. Paramedics also responded to the call. The singer was reportedly “acting erratically” when his doctor was called.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ the singer did not want to go to the hospital and had to be taken in handcuffs.
The incident follows a weekend of bizarre rants at his concerts followed by news that he had cancelled the remaining part of his Saint Pablo tour.
His wife, Kim Kardashian, was expected to make her first public appearance since the robbery in Paris last month, at the Angels Ball in New York with her sisters, but missed the event and flew home upon learning of the news.
