Matt Lauer Just Signed A New Contract For An Unbelievable Amount Of Money
Dinner is on Matt Lauer.
Despite speculation that he might leave the “Today” show after the presidential election was over, the morning show host has signed a two-year contract and will make $20 million a year, Page Six reported Wednesday.
It is the same contract Lauer signed in 2014 — two years for $20 million.
Lauer was recently criticized after he moderated the Commander-in-Chief Forum between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in September.
Though Trump thought Lauer “did a fantastic job,” Clinton later attacked him in a fundraising email. (RELATED: Donald Trump: Matt Lauer Did A Fantastic Job Moderating The Presidential Forum)
“Not only did the moderator, Matt Lauer, fail to fact-check Trump — he then kept the conversation moving,” the email read. “The worst part is, there’s nothing new about this happening.”
“We all know that Trump lies a lot. And we all know that many outlets in the press apparently lack the wherewithall to call him out — and help voters understand that what they’re hearing from Trump isn’t normal political talk, but an unprecedented descent into unqualified nonsense from a major-party presidential nominee.” (RELATED: Hillary Clinton Is Now Fundraising By Attacking Matt Lauer)
