Peyton Manning Visited The Giants Practice To Give Younger Brother Eli Advice
Peyton Manning seems to be having a tough time staying away from football in his first season after retiring from the NFL. Luckily for the former Broncos quarterback, Eli still plays for the New York Giants and happily hosted his older brother at his team’s facility on Tuesday.
Peyton never had time to visit his younger brother while he was still playing, but now the recently-retired Super Bowl champion has nothing but time on his hands.
The Giants are in preparation for an important matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, and who better to get Eli ready for a big game than his older brother. (RELATED: Kate Mara Broke Up With Her Boyfriend After He Dented The Lombardi Trophy)
Peyton dropped by to talk with coaches, some front-office personnel and even addressed the entire team during his visit Tuesday, ESPN reports. Manning, of course, also attended the quarterback meeting to offer some advice to his brother about attacking the Steelers’ defense.
Peyton has been following his brother closely this season now that he has more time to do so. “He’ll watch and send me a text after games,” Eli said. “There are no tips. It’s just more, ‘Good throw on this.'”
Eli added that Peyton will often ask something about what play he was running at a certain point in the game, but that “has always been the case,” between the brothers. “I think we still have great communication about what is going on.”
As far as this visit, “yeah, he gave some insight,” Eli said. “Just some stuff that was successful; he’s played Pittsburgh a lot over the years. Played ’em last year in the playoffs. So [he] just had a few tips or ideas that may fit into our system.”
Now that Peyton isn’t playing for another NFL team, he’s allowed to go on visits like this and I’m sure the Giants don’t mind having the future Hall of Fame quarterback advising their own.
