Taylor Swift Made More Money Than Any Other Musician In 2016
Taylor Swift is the highest paid musician of 2016, and the others on the list didn’t even come close.
On Wednesday, Forbes released their annual list that ranks musicians based on their earnings from concert ticket sales among other earnings. From June 2015 up through June 2016 the 26-year-old singer made $170 million dollars, making it the biggest payday Swift has ever had. “She not only delivers with solid music and great live concert performance experiences, but she is also young, poised, beautiful and–so far–relatively non-controversial,” Lori Landew of Fox Rothschild said. “Brands … see her as a safe and reliable spokesperson who is very aware of her brand equity and is strategic about protecting its value.”
Swift’s earnings crushed AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Beyonce and Justin Bieber. (RELATED: Taylor Swift Fans Are Losing Their Minds Over Her Latest Post [VIDEO])
The singer’s multiple endorsement deals with such company’s as Keds, Apple and Diet Coke, along with her 1989 World Tour helped her claim the top spot.
Coming in second place was the boy band One Direction, making $110 million, and taking third was singer Adele, who topped $80.5 million for her record sales.
Earlier this year Swift was also named by Forbes for making the most money out of any celebrity in the world. She more than doubled her previous year’s earnings of $80 million.
