Although the actress campaigned for Hillary Clinton in the weeks leading up the presidential election — and once said the potential of a Donald Trump presidency was “catastrophic” — she was positive when asked about the outcome this week.

“One of the positive things that’s come out of this election is a lot of people being very activated to be positive influences in their communities and in their country,” Portman said during an interview on the red carpet Thursday night.

“And we should always be that way.”

“This is a moment where a lot of people are energized in a new way to make a difference themselves and to be active themselves, and I think that’s exciting.”

Portman’s tone has changed since immediately after the election, when she said she was “very upset about the results.”
