The emerging NBA star even compared himself to President-elect Donald Trump when asked about the recent election in an interview with Complex Sports.

The Latvian-born forward/center admitted he didn’t keep up with the election that much, and offered his opinion with some reluctance.

“Honestly, I didn’t follow it that much,” Porzingis began. “I don’t really know the positive things and the negative things that this whole thing has but, anyway, you have to give him a chance, you know?”

“People are saying like [the] same thing with me — they booed me at first, you know?” Porzingis said with a laugh.

“So you never know. You know, you have to give him a chance,” he added. “I don’t try to get involved in the political things too much, that can only cause trouble for me,” he concluded.
