The 58-year-old actor — who was cast in September to play Trump for “Saturday Night Live” — brought up the president-elect during an interview with his wife for the Spanish-language magazine “Hola.”

“I’m glad people find it funny,” Baldwin said. “But at the same time, I think people were very worried about the election. Both sides are very passionate so it’s been a very, very difficult time in this country.” (RELATED: Alec Baldwin Just Played Donald Trump For The First Time On ‘SNL.’ Here’s How It Went.)

“I haven’t felt like this in a long, long time,” he said. “There are bad feelings on both sides, so to have the opportunity to give people a chance to talk and laugh about it is a good thing.”

After “SNL” ridiculed Trump’s tendency to retweet random followers on Twitter when they praise or compliment him, he condemned the show as “unwatchable.” (RELATED: After Saturday Night Live Mocked His Twitter Habits, Donald Trump Is Firing Back)

“Just tried watching Saturday Night Live — unwatchable!” Trump tweeted Saturday night. “Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse. Sad.”
