Jimmy Kimmel Takes A Dig At Donald Trump Over Taiwan Call

Jimmy Kimmel announced that he will host the Academy Awards next year with a dig at Donald Trump.

“I got a very nice call of congratulations this morning from the president of Taiwan,” Kimmel joked on his show Monday night. “And just to be clear, she called me — not the other way around.”

Kimmel was referring to Trump’s phone call with Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen last week.

The late night host has been using the president-elect as fodder for his monologues since Trump announced he was running for president, and he is likely just warming up for the show.

The 89th Academy Awards will air Sunday, Feb. 26 on ABC.
