After a fake news story circulated earlier this year claiming that Oscar-winning actor had switched his support from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump, he lashed out at the mainstream media for selling “BS” Tuesday night.

“If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed,” Washington said while speaking to reporters. “If you do read it, you’re misinformed. So what a responsibility you all have — to tell the truth.”

Washington said there’s “too much information” now.

“The need to be first, not even to be true anymore,” he continued.

“In our society, now it’s just first — who cares, get it out there. We don’t care who it hurts. We don’t care who we destroy. We don’t care if it’s true. Just say it, sell it.”

“Anything you practice you’ll get good at — including BS.”
