Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton reportedly knew fully well he would be benched if he didn’t wear a tie on game day.

“On Saturday night before the game Ron Rivera told him, ‘if you don’t wear a tie to the game I’m going to bench you for the first series.’ Cam Newton heard this, slept on it and showed up on Sunday without a tie on,” Fox Sports reporter Peter Schrager told Colin Cowherd Wednesday afternoon. (SLIDESHOW: This Supermodel Might Be The Sexiest NFL Girlfriend)
