Rolling Stones Frontman Mick Jagger Fathers 8th Child At Age 73
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger became a father to his eighth child after his girlfriend gave birth to a son in New York on Thursday, Reuters News reports.
Jagger, 73, and his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick, 29, are “both delighted” about the birth of their child, the long-time Rolling Stones publicist Fran Curtis, said in a statement.
“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time,” Curtis added.
The rock and roll legend began dating Hamrick, who is a ballet dancer, about two years ago, according to reports.
Jagger already had seven other children with former partners before welcoming his eighth with Hamrick on Thursday. The Stones singer is also a grandfather to five and even became a great-grandfather in May of 2014, according to Reuters.
Although Jagger and the Rolling Stones are getting up there in age, they’ve repeatedly said they’re going to rock until they drop. They recently finished an extensive tour in North America and even released a new album called “Blue & Lonesome.”
