According to the New York Post, the woman who created the talk show and hosted it for 17 years¬†“fears the show will be ¬≠remembered for its petty backstage bickering and revolving door of talent.”

“She feels they’ve ruined the franchise that she and Bill Geddie built,” a source told the Post this weekend. “Instead of focusing on smart, educated women with strong talent, they cast uninformed child actors on the show.” (RELATED: Raven Symone Is Leaving ‘The View’)

“The legacy has been compromised because of poor casting and bad leadership under ABC News,” the source added.

The report claims Walters ditched a planned appearance on the show after the election, but a representative for her disputed that.

“It was a prearranged vacation for the two of them,” the rep told the Post. “She calls the control room multiple times a week to offer her suggestions. She has a wonderful relationship with the show.”

Candace Cameron Bure announced she was leaving the show last week. (RELATED: Candace Cameron Bure Confirms Rumors She’s Leaving ‘The View’)

“It’s a little bittersweet for me today because I am announcing that I will be leaving ‘The View,'” Bure told the audience. “It wasn’t an easy decision but before I started I already had my commitments to ‘Fuller House’ and the Hallmark channel.”

“The commute of going from the West Coast to the East Cost is tough on me and my family,” she added.

“It’s been really wonderful and I’m grateful.”
