The 39-year-old rapper requested a meeting with the president-elect and was seen entering Trump Tower with his entourage on Tuesday. Hope Hicks, Trump’s spokesman, confirmed that West was meeting with the president-elect.

“[Kanye] has had positive things to say about the president-elect,” Trump transition team communications director Jason Miller told the Daily Beast after the meeting. (RELATED: Kanye West Spotted At Trump Tower)

Miller said Trump is interested in “putting together coalitions” and wants to “reach out to people both from traditional and nontraditional political viewpoints.”

“Just friends, just friends,” Trump said when asked why he met with West. “He’s a good man. Long time. Friends for a long time.”

When asked what the two discussed, Trump said, “Life. We discussed life.”

West left Trump Tower after about 15 minutes.
