It’s Official — Here’s Who Is Performing At Trump’s Inauguration
Andrea Bocelli and child singer Jackie Evancho will perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
TMZ reports that Bocelli signed on Wednesday to perform for the president-elect at his Jan. 20 inauguration ceremony. The acclaimed Italian tenor will also join 16-year-old former “America’s Got Talent” runner-up Jackie Evancho for a duet.
Evancho told NBC’s “Today” show Wednesday morning that Trump had asked her to perform“The Star-Spangled Banner” at the ceremony.
“I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome,” Evancho said. “I felt really honored to be able to sing for the office, it’s a great honor for me.”
In 2010, Evancho placed second on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” at age 10. She met Trump a year later at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Evancho has performed three times in front of President Obama. She told the “Today” show that singing for the president is always humbling, and her trick to dealing with nerves is to “suck it up.”
Bocelli and Evancho performed together last year in Italy.
