Just days after the “Star Wars” actress suffered a major cardiac episode while she was flying from London to Los Angeles, she died Tuesday morning.

“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” the family’s spokesman Simon Halls said in a statement to People magazine. “She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”

Fisher’s death comes just one day after her mother Debbie Reynolds said she was in stable condition on Twitter Sunday.

“Carrie is in stable condition,” Reynolds wrote. “If there is a change, we will share it. For all her fans and friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes.”
