NHL Player Gets Jacked Up With Direct Hit To The Head

Boston Bruins forward David Backes took a brutal shot to the head Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres.

Backes was moving up the ice in an attempt to dump the puck when Sabres player William Carrier sent him flying with a direct shot to his head. (SLIDESHOW: 13 Times Paulina Gretzky Looked Absolutely Incredible)


The Bruins official Twitter account tweeted that Backes suffered an upper-body injury, but more details about his condition at this time are unknown. (SLIDESHOW: 12 TIMES SPORTS PUNDIT KRISTINE LEAHY LOOKED ABSOLUTELY STUNNING)

The NHL has not yet announced if Carrier will face a suspension or fine for the brutal hit.
