The 46-year-old singer was in the middle of performing her song “Emotions” in Times Square on Saturday night when something went very wrong with her vocals.

“We’ll just sing,” an agitated Carey told the crowd. “It went to No. 1. We’re missing some of these vocals, but it is what it is,” she said. “Let the audience sing.”

“I’m trying to be a good sport here,” she added.

“Unfortunately there was nothing she could do to continue with the performance given the circumstances,” her spokesman Nicole Perna said in a statement to the Associated Press Sunday.
