‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Ratings Tank Without Trump
The ratings for this year’s “Celebrity Apprentice” premiere were down significantly from last year’s premiere, when President-elect Donald Trump was the host.
Actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger is now the host.
In the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. viewing window, “Celebrity Apprentice” got a 1.3 rating in the coveted 18-49 age group, drawing 4.9 million viewers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The show lost big up against ABC’s romance reality show “The Bachelor,” which scored a 2.2 rating in the same age demographic, totaling 6.6 million viewers. (RELATED: NFL TV Ratings Down Again)
In January 2015, the Monday premiere of the show under Trump had a 35 percent higher rating in the key demographic. That show drew a 2.0 rating, with 6.5 million viewers tuning in, according to The Wrap.
Schwarzenegger’s catchphrase is, “You’re terminated,” replacing Trump’s “You’re fired.”
Last month, Trump’s senior advisor Kellyanne Conway suggested in a CNN interview that the president-elect would still be an executive producer of the show, but Trump later tweeted that those reports were inaccurate.
“Reports by @CNN that I will be working on The Apprentice during my Presidency, even part-time, are ridiculous & untrue – FAKE NEWS,” Trump tweeted.
