David Spade Jokes About Michael Floyd’s DUI That Landed Him On the NFL’s Best Team
Former Arizona Cardinal Michael Floyd got a DUI and ended up on the best team in the NFL: the New England Patriots.
Actor David Spade, who’s from Arizona, hilariously joked about Floyd’s DUI arrest that got him cut from the Cardinals and landed him on the Patriots roster in December. The comedian told TMZ Tuesday he’s “never seen a guy profit more from a DUI.”
“You know what? I’ve never seen a DUI turn a guy’s life around more. Not only a DUI, like 9x blacked out in the front seat, and the Patriots are like ‘We need this guy. Bail him out, get him on our team,'” Spade joked. (RELATED: Bill Belichick Not Fazed About Video Of Extremely Drunk Player Getting Charged With A DUI)
“Jesus Christ he was doing good on the Cardinals. It’s like rubbing a bottle… you get three wishes. Who doesn’t want to be on the Patriots? How could I fuck up so bad that I get on the best team in football?”
Floyd was arrested on December 12 in Scottsdale, Arizona after falling asleep drunk behind the wheel. The Cardinals quickly cut the wide receiver and (luckily for him) he was later picked up by the Patriots, despite a video of his arrest going viral after being posted to TMZ.
Most NFL fans are probably thinking about the same thing as Spade is, but Patriots head coach Bill Belichick knew exactly what he was doing.
The legendary coach always seems to take troubled players and find a way to turn them around. Floyd had three receptions and a touchdown in the Patriots 35-14 defeat of the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
