Fox Sports Pundit: The Media Is To Blame For The False Ronda Rousey Hype
Fox Sports pundit Jason Whitlock shredded the media for falsely building up Ronda Rousey.
“I don’t blame Rousey or Dana White. She’s a fighter. He’s a promoter. They did their jobs. I blame us, the media. We bought and sold her hype. We debated if she could beat up Floyd Mayweather. We published 5,000 word puff pieces hailing her as the most dominant and most invincible athlete of the time. We looked at a sport with no real history and a women’s division in its infancy and decided the prettiest white girl in it was the Muhammed Ali of the 21st century,” Whitlock said late Wednesday on the FS1 show “Speak for Yourself.” (SLIDESHOW: THESE ARE THE SEXIEST PHOTOS OF RONDA ROUSEY ON THE INTERNET)
