Angelina Jolie just accused Brad Pitt of “publicly impugning” her character in new court documents.

On Friday, the Daily Mail reported details of the court documents filed on behalf of the 41-year-old actress that claim her ex-husband Pitt is “terrified the public will learn the truth” about him. (RELATED: Brad Pitt ‘Very Saddened,’ Asks For Privacy)

The remarks came after Jolie approved of Pitt’s request to get their six children’s records legally sealed going forward to protect their children’s privacy. The actor asked a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge on Wednesday to legally have the records sealed.

The actress reportedly agreed with Pitt but still accused him of using the court filings as a ” desperate effort to obscure the truth which threatens his reputation.”

“There is no question that this case has been of extraordinary interest to the public since its inception,” said Jolie’s attorney Laura Wasser in court documents. “And there is little doubt that [Pitt] would prefer to keep the entire case private, particularly given the detailed investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Children and Family Services into allegations of abuse.” (RELATED: Angelina Jolie Agrees To Keep Custody Battle With Brad Pitt Quiet)

“Her [Jolie’s] conduct in this case has been grossly mischaracterized by [Pitt],” the statement added. “Likely terrified that the public will learn the truth, (Pitt) is now casting blame at [Jolie] for the consequences of his own actions.”

Mentioned along with sealing the documents, Jolie accused Pitt of refusing to follow a previous arrangement between the two that he will only have weekly therapeutic visits with their kids.

The supervised visits stem from an alleged incident in September of last year on a flight from France to the United States when an argument broke out aboard a private plane, leaving someone to make an anonymous call to the Department of Children and Family Services.  Pitt was exonerated in November by officials after being accused of being physically abusive with one of their children on board the flight.

Jolie filed for divorce shortly after the alleged incident.
