According to TMZ, the former cult leader has a lesion in his intestines that is causing significant bleeding. Manson left the California State Prison in Corcoran on Tuesday and was transported to a hospital in Bakersfield that is an hour away.

Though the 82-year-old initially said no to surgery, he decided to move forward with it on Thursday night but doctors determined it was too risky by then. (RELATED: Charles Manson Hospitalized)
