Ben Affleck Says Trump Presidency ‘Will Be An Entertaining Four Years’
After watching Donald Trump’s first press conference, actor/director Ben Affleck is thinking the next four years are going to be interesting to say the least.
“I didn’t get to watch the entire news conference although what I did see of it, I was quite entertained by,” Affleck said at the London premiere of “Live by Night” Wednesday. “I think it will be an entertaining four years.”
Affleck didn’t speak much to his opinion of the president-elect as a politician, but did comment on his tweets about Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech.
Streep went after Trump while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award at the Golden Globes Sunday night. The president-elect responded to her speech the following morning in a series of tweets in which he called Streep “one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood.”
“If you think Meryl Streep is an overrated actress, you’re probably the least qualified person to comment on acting,” Affleck said. “She’s, if nothing else, the world’s greatest actor.”
On the other hand, if Streep is in fact “the world’s greatest actor,” that doesn’t make her qualified to be a political commentator does it.
