The first lady-elect will travel back home to New York with their 10-year-old son 48 hours after Donald Trump is sworn in as president because she insists on maintaining Barron Trump’s normal schedule. She won’t move into the White House permanently until June, when Barron finishes the school year.

According to TMZ, “Melania wants life for her son to be as normal as possible, and that includes keeping him in school and in his daily routine. She takes the mom thing seriously.”

In December, Melania said it’s important for her to be involved in her son’s day-to-day life.

“We love to catch up on our daily life and have dinner,” Melania said.

“When you’re together and you have great conversation, it’s priceless.” (RELATED: Her Husband Might Have Just Become President, But It’s Business As Usual For Melania Trump)
