NFL Denies Claims They Told Lady Gaga No Trump Talk At Super Bowl
The National Football League has called reports that they told Lady Gaga not to talk about Donald Trump at the Super Bowl “nonsense.”
On Tuesday, an NFL spokesperson responded to the recent rumors that the 30-year-old singer has been warned that politics is off-limits during her upcoming half-time performance at the Super Bowl in February, according to The Wrap. (RELATED: Lady Gaga Steps Out In Short Shorts And No Bra)
“This is unsourced nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none,” an NFL spokesperson said. “The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together. Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren’t going to be distracted by this.” (RELATED: Lady Gaga Poses Topless For New Album [PHOTO])
Their denial comes following a report by Entertainment Tonight that sources close to the NFL half-time performance said “Lady Gaga was told by the NFL that she cannot say anything or bring anything up about the election, or mention Donald Trump.”
Gaga has been keeping busy getting ready for the big show. She shared a video on Instagram on Monday that let her followers know how she had created a dancefloor in her backyard to work on to get ready for the big event.
“Super Bowl Rehearsal is so fun. We built a tent in my backyard with a dancefloor to practice! We love you monsters, can’t wait to perform for u!”
“Rehearsal #cantstopwontstop dream big and never give up #halftime,” Gaga wrote in another post on the social media site.
