Cab Driver Raves About John Elway Not Knowing He’s In The Back Of His Car
A Washington, D.C. taxi cab driver praised legendary NFL quarterback John Elway as the best quarterback ever, not knowing that he was sitting in the back of his car.
Elway was visiting D.C. during the presidential inauguration when taxi driver Sam Snow picked him and a group of friends up in his taxi on Friday. The former Denver Broncos quarterback and current general manager hopped in the back with another passenger, unnoticed by the driver.
Snow was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers jacket and hat, which probably prompted Elway’s companions to ask the driver who his favorite quarterback is. The woman sitting next to Elway captured the conversation in a video posted to Facebook by Elway’s friend Glenn Stearns on Tuesday.
Although Snow is clearly a big Steelers fan, he named Elway as No. 1 on his all-time quarterback list. And even though his favorite team was set to face the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Sunday, Snow reluctantly admitted that Tom Brady is No. 2.
After having a good laugh about the cab driver’s response, the other passengers asked if he would recognize Elway if he saw him. “Oh yeah,” Snow responded.
“Do me a favor,” the passenger in the front seat told Snow. “Look at that guy right there,” he said pointing to the Broncos quarterback.
“How you doing man,” Elway said.
“Oh come on man, are you serious?” the driver said in shock. “Come on man! It’s John Elway!”
Snow then took some time to tell the quarterback how many times he pissed him off and beat his team. But he seemed to enjoy the rest of his ride with the legendary quarterback and got a few pictures afterwards to remember the moment.
