Report: Actress Mischa Barton Hospitalized After Exhibiting Bizarre Behavior
Actress Mischa Barton was hospitalized after exhibiting some rather strange behavior that left neighbors worried, The Daily Caller has confirmed.
On Friday, authorities with the Los Angles County Sheriff’s department confirmed that they were called to check on the 31-year-old actress — best known for her role on the show “The O.C.” — after she was reportedly ranting in her backyard about her mom being a “witch” and the end of the world coming, according to TMZ. Sources close to the actress say she was spotted hanging over her fence in the backyard of her home in West Hollywood going on about “the world shattering and Ziggy Stardust,” TMZ reported. She also reportedly fell backward off that fence and was heard saying “Oh my god, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry.”
Barton was reportedly only wearing a shirt and tie at the time of the rant. She was then taken voluntarily in an ambulance to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Back in 2009, the actress was hospitalized for what she later described, in an article in People magazine, as a “full on breakdown.” She was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold for four days.
“We thought, ‘Work hard, play hard,'” Barton said. “It was a train I could not get off of. When you’re young, you can do it, but after a while, it’s going to come crashing down on you.”
