Jennifer Lawrence bashed the executive order President Trump signed last week that temporarily bans the citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen from entering the United States.
In a lengthy Facebook post Monday, the actress said she prays that “sanity and compassion return to the White House” in a lengthy Facebook Monday.
“My broken heart goes out to the innocent lives of Muslim refugees that are trying to escape terror and find safety for their families,” Lawrence wrote. “And millions of Americans understand that someone’s race or religion should never keep them in harm’s way. It should be every person’s duty to help and protect anyone no matter their nationality.”

“America is a proud nation of immigrants and we will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression, but we will do so while protecting our own citizens and border,” Trump said in a statement. “America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave. We will keep it free and keep it safe, as the media knows, but refuses to say.”
