Britney Spears asked her fans to pray for her eight-year-old niece, Maddie, who crashed her ATV on Sunday.

On Monday, the 35-year-old singer posted on Twitter and Instagram asking for prayers and “all the wishes” for her niece who remains in critical, but stable condition, following the crash. Maddie, who is the daughter of Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, reportedly was left submerged underwater for several minutes in the accident, according to TMZ. (RELATED: Britney Spears Shows Off Some Wild Dance Moves At Home)

Spear’s niece was riding an off-road vehicle in Kentwood La, when she flipped the vehicle into a lake and was submerged underwater in the crash. She was reportedly “unconscious” and had to be airlifted to a hospital in New Orleans.

Family members have disputed the report by TMZ.

“The details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie Lynn’s daughter, Maddie, are incorrect,” the statement read. “Right now, the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family.”
