Kris Jenner Opens Up About Kanye Meeting With Trump
Kris Jenner opens up next week about that surprise meeting between Kanye West and President Donald Trump in New York City at Trump Tower after the election.
In a preview of Monday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres show,” the 61-year-old leader of the Kardashian-Jenner family said she really had no idea if her son-in-law was friends with the president or planned to visit him again soon, when the host asked her about the singer’s meeting in November with Trump. She said the whole thing really surprised her. (RELATED: Kanye West: I Would Have Voted For Trump)
“It did,” Jenner exclaimed. “He went and Corey [Gamble, Jenner’s boyfriend] went with him, and they went because I think he had some, you know, issue that he might have wanted to talk about and I think that was the extent of it.” (RELATED: Kanye West Wasn’t Joking About Running For President In 2020)
“We all have issues we want to talk about with him…but we’re not showing up,” DeGeneres joked in response.
“I think he was lucky enough to be able to get an audience and to talk about whatever they talked about,” Jenner said. “I think that it wasn’t for any special intention.”
Kanye has never spoken publicly about what the two men discussed during the meeting only to later post on Twitter that it was about creating a “line of communication” to create change.
“I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multi-cultural issues,” West tweeted but has since deleted. “These issues include bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
