Lindsay Lohan Claims She Was ‘Racially Profiled’ For Wearing A Headscarf
Lindsay Lohan believes she was “racially profiled” in London’s Heathrow Airport for wearing a headscarf.
The “Mean Girls” star was returning to the United States from a trip to Turkey via London where she claims an airport worker stopped her because of what she was wearing.
The airport employee “opened my passport and saw ‘Lindsay Lohan’ and started immediately apologizing, but then said: ‘Please take off your headscarf,'” Lohan told “Good Morning Britain,” on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old actress has been studying the Quran and the religion of Islam and recently admitted to Daily Mail she was scared to return to the United States from her visit to Turkey because of her “personal beliefs.”
During her trip to Turkey, she visited Syrian refugee camps and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. While she was there, Lohan said she wore a headscarf out of “personal respect” for her hosts.
Lohan told “Good Morning Britain” that her encounter with the airport worker in London made her wonder “how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel?”
Lohan has not yet converted to Islam, but has said she finds “solace” in the “beautiful religion.”
