Boxing star Canelo Alvarez just weighed in on the potential fight between fellow boxer Floyd Mayweather and UFC champion Conor McGregor and he’s not impressed with it.

“I think it’s a joke,” Alvarez said when asked about the potential match, TMZ reports. He also said that it would be disrespectful to the sport of boxing to put the UFC star in the ring with Floyd.

Mayweather and McGregor have been trash talking back and forth for months now, but nothing has been officially agreed upon.

If it was up to Alvarez, it sounds like the fight wouldn’t happen at all. It also seemed as if the young boxer is annoyed by all the hype around Floyd responding to more questions from TMZ by saying “Mayweather is retired.”

Canelo fought Floyd back in 2013, but he doesn’t want to continue talking about the man who is no longer boxing. He’s focused on his upcoming fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., and that’s a fight you can count on happening.
