The film’s director Bill Condon told a British magazine that the LeFou has “a nice, exclusively gay moment” in the movie. “LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston. He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realizing that he has these feelings.”
In the 1991 animated film, there is no openly gay moments.
This announcement comes after the children-friendly Disney included acts of gay intimacy in one of its cartoon shows. The cartoon series “Star Vs The Forces Of Evil” recently showed two male figures kissing in the crowd at a concert, as well as two female characters making out.
